Reporting Hate Crimes or Incidents
If you, your friends, or whānau have experienced abuse, violence, threats, or intimidation motivated by hostility or prejudice, it is extremely important that you report it.
Here’s how you can do so:
Report a Concern
Immediate Danger: Call 111
If the situation is happening now or if someone is in danger, please call 111 immediately.
Non-Emergency Reporting:
You can report a hate crime or incident online using the [105 non-emergency report](https://www.police.govt.nz/105support) or by calling 105.
Anonymous Reporting:
To report anonymously, use [Crime Stoppers](https://www.crimestoppers-nz.org/).
Human Rights Commission:
You can also make a complaint to the [Human Rights Commission](https://www.hrc.co.nz/).

Reporting National Security Concerns:
The NZSIS is responsible for protecting New Zealand against threats to national security. They want to hear from you if you have concerns relating to national security, such as:
Violent extremism or terrorism:
The use of violence or threat of violence in the pursuit of political, religious, ideological, or social objectives. NZSIS investigates any form of violent extremism.
Foreign interference or espionage:
When a foreign state seeks to influence, disrupt, or subvert New Zealand’s interest through covert, deceptive, corruptive, or threatening means.
Reporting concerning behaviours or activities can save lives. Even if you have small concerns but aren’t sure whether to proceed, please do report them. Trusting your instincts is important – your concerns could be an important piece of the puzzle.
